Mixed Reactions Trail Proposed Ban Of Hijab

Mixed reactions have continued to trail the proposed ban on the use of hijab by President Muhamadu Buhari during the maiden edition of the presidential media chat held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015.

Buhari explained that the move would be necessitated if the recent development in some parts of the country where suspected female Boko Haram members conceal explosives under this piece of clothing which they detonate in public places like mosques, churches, motor parks and market places persist.

While some resident of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, who described the move as a welcome development, others maintained that it as “irrelevant”, adding that it would not end the insecurity situation in the country.
Some Nigerians simply  believed the president was misunderstood by the media. He argued that the president would never ban the use of hijab in the country.
Some Believe Buhari will never ban hijab. The media just tried to paint him black so that the Muslims will see him as an enemy to them. He will ban it in case of necessity and in those affected places.”
